Toyota India has the Innova with a 2.7 liter Limited Edition petrol engine. The base is taken from the GX trim. The changes are minimalistic, but have features that the local Innova doesn't have. For example tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), wireless charging and head-up display. The rest is still the same as the global model. But actually you can find these items in the aftermarket market easily.
The heart of the Innova Limited Edition only uses a 2.7 liter gasoline type. The code is 2TR-FE, four cylinder, DOHC 16 valve, Dual VVT-i. The internal combustion engine provides a peak power of 166 PS at 5,200 rpm and a boost of torque of 245 Nm at 4,000 rpm. For safety matters, there are seven air cushions at several points. These include the driver, front passenger, side, curtain shield & knee (driver). Then the braking section uses discs at the front plus drums at the rear. It has been supported by Brake Assist, ABS, EBD, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill-Start Assist Control (HSA) so that it doesn't roll up when stopped on an incline.
The equipment is no different. The front highlight uses an LED projector type + halogen, LED front fog lamps. Behind the Limited edition, many people have speculated about the introduction of the successor, the Toyota Innova Hybrid. The new generation most likely carries the name Innova Hycross. Even in Indonesia, the company registered the name Innova Zenix at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. They are expected to make their global debut in the coming months. What is clear, HEV powertrain should be able to offer better efficiency than diesel. Wait for further developments.
