New Hyundai Palisade Vs Mazda CX-9, Who's More Alluring?

 Quite a few saw the Hyundai Palisade milling around on the streets. It has a series of advantages that are able to lure upper strata consumers. From January to June 2022, Palisade was included in the list of best-selling imported vehicles with a record of 1,138 units.



Speaking of rivals, New Palisade is in a fairly niche class. When it comes to engines, the Palisade is in the same class as the Mitsubishi Pajero and Toyota Fortuner. Although Hyundai has revealed that the two rivals are more suitable to be reunited with the Santa Fe. When looking at the price, the Palisade is in the Mazda CX-8 and CX-9 areas.

The first discussion is directly about price as one of the considerations for consumer choices. Palisade is offered in three variants. Prime with a price tag of IDR 842 million, Signature 4x2 of IDR 977 million and finally Signature AWD with a price tag of IDR 1.1 billion.

The Mazda CX-9 is also offered in three variants. First, the FWD variant with a price tag of IDR 887.7 million, the Kuro Edition with IDR 889.9 million and finally there is the AWD variant for IDR 958.8 million. All of them have the status of on the road DKI Jakarta.

Engine Performance

Next is the discussion about the engine power offered by each model. The Palisade comes with a 2.2L CRDi 4-cylinder diesel engine with an e-VGT. The engine produces 200 ps of power at 3,800 rpm and 440 Nm of torque at 1,750 to 2,750 rpm. The transmission is 8-speed with shift by wire technology where the driver only presses the button to shift gears without a lever as usual.

Mazda CX-9 petrol 2.5L Turbo 4 cylinder DOHC. The engine produces 231 ps of power at 5,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 420 Nm at 2,000 rpm. The transmission is a six-speed automatic.

Exterior Dimensions and Design

Both offer different approaches in terms of size. The Palisade is 4,995 mm long, 1,975 mm wide and 1,750 mm high with a wheelbase length of 2,900 mm. Ground clearance is as high as 203 mm. In the latest Palisade, differences are visible from the façade section. Use a parametric shield grille design with a parametric hidden type DRL like Creta. Such lights disappear when the vehicle is not in use. 

The Mazda CX-9 has dimensions of 5,075 mm in length, 1,969 mm in width, and 1,747 mm in height and a wheelbase length of 2,939 mm. The distance from the footing to the ground is as high as 220 mm. Carrying Mazda's signature Kodo desai. The curve of the line even though it doesn't look firm still gives an athletic and tough impression. The grille with chrome slats looks integrated with the led technology tapered design headlamp as well as drl. The back is quite firm with the use of a combination stoplamp also with LED technology. Features and Comfort

Both OF these SUVs offer a comfortable SUV driving experience, mainly from some of the features offered. The palisade of comfort comes from a 12.3-inch TFT touch display audio head unit connected to a 12-speaker Infinity Premium audio system. The latest Palisade offers a Bluelink service connection that connects the car with the driver's mobile phone.

Like Creta and other Hyundai products, now the latest Palisade is equipped with the Hyundai SmartSense feature. This feature consists of several functions such as forward collision avoidance assist, lane keeping & lane following assist, blind spot collision-avoidance warning, driver attention warning and rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist. All of which help the driver drive safely throughout the journey.

Then in terms of security features, Palisade is equipped with the latest technology. These features include high beam assist, safe exit assist, blind spot view monitor and surround view monitor for surveillance of the environment around the vehicle. There is still a rear view monitor with dynamic guidelines, manual speed limit assist, smart cruise control with stop and go and parking distance warning reverse with switch forward / reverse.

Moving on to the Mazda CX-9. The first impression in the interior is quite luxurious thanks to the use of leather material in all parts. On the steering wheel, there is an audio setting button and the cruise control feature is also wrapped in leather. The head unit is 9 inches which is set via commander control on the center console and features a Mazda Connect mobile phone connection. The entertainment side comes with a 12 speaker audio system from Bose as well as an Aux connection and USB port. There are still wireless charging phones, head up displays, dual zone air conditioners in front and rear, and air vents on the seats.

Its safety features come with airbags in front, sides and curtains, side impact door beams, collapsible steering shafts, and a Skyactiv-Body structure. Potential consumers just have to compare from the availability of funds. Palisade and CX-9 are in the price range of IDR 800 million.
