Honda introduces a special edition to one of its electric cars. The eco-friendly vehicle comes with a new color choice, namely Premium Crystal Red. In addition, it also gets 17-inch alloy wheels and a special badge on the black rear.
This Limited Edition model was introduced by the Formula 1 racer who is also the 2021 world champion with Honda, namely Max Verstappen. This special edition of Honda e is sold in a limited way, which is only fifty units for the European market.
Honda e is a new generation electric vehicle made by Honda which is designed with a simple design, but focuses on ease of use for the rider. In accordance with current trends, Honda e also carries the distinctive style of modern urban society, supported by connectivity technology and dynamic driving performance.
The presence of the Honda e is a manifestation of Honda's steps to achieve its vision of 100 percent electric car sales in Europe 2025. Simplicity and retro style are embedded as a design identity, reminiscent of the 1971 Honda Life SA360. Free from aggressive strokes like Honda that is currently circulating. The circular lamp gives a retro feel. The pop-up handle is made flush with the panel, pops up immediately when the hand approaches. Conventional mirrors are absent from the display, replaced by a small camera that is broadcast through a screen in the cabin.
It's the same with interior design. Simple retrofuturistic emphasizes horizontal lines. The Honda e dashboard has two large, interconnected touch screens, to display various applications and entertainment services in a lounge-like setting.
Through this screen, drivers and passengers can enjoy various applications and connectivity with comfort. The system can also be operated via voice commands, which the Honda Personal Assistant (HPA) responds to. Intelligent artificial intelligence is claimed to continue to learn the owner's voice over time in order to provide accurate responses.
For the drive system, the Honda e is equipped with a 35.5 kWH battery with compact dimensions. With this power blend, this car is claimed to be able to drive up to 200 to 220 kilometers when the battery is fully charged.
Thanks to the placement of the battery in the center results in a 50:50 balanced weight distribution. The manufacturer calls this composition, the car becomes more stable and has rigid control. Water cooling in the battery section also ensures optimal temperature.
Regarding battery charging, this electric car made by Honda is also supported by fast charging technology. His claim to reach 80 percent condition can be completed in just 30 minutes.
This electric car also did not take long to get recognition from various institutions. In April 2020 Honda e received two awards from the Red Dot Award. In this event, Honda e won the "Red Dot: Best of the Best 2020" award in the car design category and "Red Dot 2020" in the Smart Products category.
Then in 2021, Honda e won other prestigious awards such as; “German Car of the Year 2021” and “World Urban Car of the Year” award at the 2021 World Car Awards.
For information, the Honda e was introduced in the world for the first time in a concept version under the name Honda urban EV Concept in 2017. Two years later, this model appeared in a prototype version at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Then in the same year he appeared in a mass production version. at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It also marks the start of sales of the car in Europe. As for the Asian region, it premiered at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show and went on sale in Japan in early 2020.
