In this article, we will try to explain 10 interesting things you need to know about the Honda Scoopy. Maybe it can be a reference before you actually bring it into the garage.
1. Dimensions of the Latest Honda Scoopy Enlarged
First, referring to the official motor specification data, the size of the latest Honda Scoopy is now enlarged. The overall length is 1,864 mm, width 683 mm, height 1,075 mm and wheelbase 1,251 mm.
The old Honda Scoopy generation has a length of 1,847 mm, a width of 686 mm, a height of 1,061 mm, and a wheelbase of 1,257 mm. The change in dimensions also makes the seat height of the Scoopy increase by 2 mm or to 746 mm. Meanwhile, the lowest distance to the ground (ground clearance) also increases by 2 mm to 145 mm.
2. New Engine Offal But Decreased Output
Still referring to the specification sheet, the all new Honda Scoopy still packs a 110 cc engine. However, in this new generation, the cubication is actually larger to 109.5 cc from the previous 108.2 cc.
Investigating, it turns out that the engine used is the same engine as that of the all new Honda Beat and New Genio. Now the bore x stroke size is 47 x 63.1 mm, which was originally 50 x 55 mm. Then the compression of the engine also increased to 10:1 from the initial 9.5:1.
Unfortunately, from the use of the new machine, the output on paper actually decreased. From the maximum power, for example, from 8.9 horsepower at 7,500 rpm, it has now become 8.8 horsepower at the same engine speed. While the peak torque also drops to 9.3 Nm from 9.4 Nm at 5,500 rpm engine torque.
3. The Volume of the Fuel Tank Becomes Bigger
In the new generation Honda Scoopy, Honda engineers calibrate the fuel tank volume. Now the latest Scoopy can drink up to 4.2 liters of gasoline or up 0.2 liters from the previous version.
The manufacturer claims that with the new fuel tank capacity, Scoopy can record fuel consumption of 59 kilometers per liter when the Idling Stop System feature is on. This is very economical, guys!
4. New eSAF Lighter Frame
In this latest Scoopy, the empty weight is reduced quite well, ranging from 95 and 94 kilograms (specifically for the Smart Key type). In the previous model the weight is fairly heavy to 99 kilograms.
This is thanks to the use of the same new chassis as the BeAT and Genio. AHM named it the eSAF (enhanced Smart Architecture Frame) chassis. The manufacturer says, with the application of this frame, the weight of the motor is reduced by 8 percent and promises good stability.
5. USB Model Charging Dock
His name is a motorbike for young people, of course he wants everything to be practical and easy. When it comes to charging your device, you don't need to bother carrying around an adapter anymore, the latest Scoopy already uses a USB type power outlet.
Its position is still in the slot on the left deck which is complete with a cover drawer. So you don't have to worry about your smartphone getting wet when riding in rainy conditions.
6. Item Hook is Safer
The manufacturer also provides a new model of hook or hook in the all new Scoopy. Now use a locking model at the top, so that when you carry items that are hung on the components, they don't come off easily.
A minimalist but highly functional change isn't it? Especially considering that Scoopy is a commuter motorbike, the majority of its use is for daily mobility.
7. More Sophisticated with Keyless
All new Honda Scoopy now comes with more sophisticated technology. There is now a keyless option with Anti Theft Alarm, a device similar to that of the PCX and Vario 160.
It's just that if you want to have a Scoopy with keyless features, the variants you have to choose are Scoopy Stylish and Prestige. While the 2 variants below, Sporty and Fashion still pack conventional key models.
8. Change the Lights to Make the Look More Classic
The most striking changes and make it more classic are in the components of the front and rear lights. The design is consistent with using a rounded model, but now tends to be more oval. What's interesting is that the turn signal is now separated.
The new headlight design is maximized by the use of LED projector technology. While at the back, the lamp model is perfectly round, but interestingly, even though it is still a halogen, it resembles an LED lamp.
9. Complete Features
Basically Scoopy has a different target consumer from Genio. Although both have a stylish appearance, Scoopy was created to have a higher class through design, especially the completeness of features.
Above we have explained that the latest Scoopy is keyless immersed in the LED projector lamp in front.
