Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid 2022 Coming Soon to Indonesia

The news of the presence of the Suzuki Ertiga hybrid in Indonesia is getting louder. Signals of his presence not only come from various news but also Suzuki itself. 

Shodiq Wicaksono, Managing Director of Suzuki Indomobil Sales some time ago revealed that Suzuki was preparing to introduce electrified vehicles to the public.

If based on the sources dug, SIS will release a new LMPV to fight against such as the Toyota Avanza and Veloz. Not with just a conventional engine, but with the help of a mild hybrid system. Moreover, in the State of Bharata, the facelift version has started to roam. The following are the expectations when presented to the Indonesian market.

More Efficient Machine

There will be a new engine under the hood. The Ertiga hybrid uses a K15B, DOHC, 1,462 cc VVT engine. Fuel distribution using multipoint injection. With a step diameter of 74.0 mm x 85.0 mm, the mechanical heart is capable of pumping out 104.7 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 138 Nm at 4,400 rpm. About the transmission, in India it is rumored to use a new 6-speed automatic. For this market, it's okay to change, or keep using a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Then a 5-speed manual is also always available. 

It should be underlined, mild hybrid technology is not to boost power. But more towards efficiency. So the amount of output remains the same from the regular model. The Ertiga hybrid itself was exhibited at Monas. It is equipped with a 12-volt lithium ion battery with 36 Wh alerts by Denso. Position just below the front passenger seat. So, the car uses an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) plus a two-battery setup. The ISG is tasked with replacing the conventional alternator, it also includes a motor drive function, which adds to the acceleration capability.

According to Suzuki, through this technology, it can increase overall efficiency and reduce emissions. Combined with the dual battery settings in the Smart Hybrid, it enables automatic start and stop functions. This relates to lightening the load on the engine, by shutting down at a stop and resulting in better fuel economy.

Well, SHVS technology has a relatively simple working system. It starts when the vehicle is in a stopped position and the driver does not step on the pedal and the gear is in the 'N' or neutral position. Then the car automatically performs Engine Auto Stop which functions to turn off the engine. But the electrical system remains on. Then when the pedal is stepped on, the ISG automatically re-starts the vehicle engine. The hope is that the efficiency of the Ertiga Smart Hybrid 2022 will increase significantly.

Additional Safety and Comfort Features

For the domestic market, Suzuki only buried a number of standard features in the Ertiga. In the highest caste, the contents include dual airbags, Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Stability Program, Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Hill Hold Control. So it is necessary to add Traction Control so that driving is more stable when cornering on wet roads.

Then in order not to lose to the Mitsubishi Xpander, the 2022 facelift edition needs to be added with Cruise Control. Obviously, this is not a difficult matter for SIS in immersing it. The completeness and arrangement of the cabin is believed not far from the existing model. How, any other input?
